In April/May of 1998, thanks to my generous brother/host, I took a 5-week trip to a place called Igloolik, in the then Northwest Territories of Canada. (Now, as of April 1, 1999, Igloolik is a part of the new Canadian territory called Nunavut.)

As a sort of diary, I wrote mass emails out to friends and family, keeping everyone up to date on the goings-on and impressions of a southerner-gone-north.
