This is our campsite at Ugakjualik. As you can see, it's on a tiny island in the sea. Our tent is the orange beacon, an "arctic oven" --- and it lived up to its name.

Below where the person is standing, a gas-powered auger has been used to drill fishing holes through the 6 or 7 feet thick ice.
