I finally saw my first caribou in Iqaluit. There are two ironic things about this fact. First, Iqaluit is the largest community in Nunavut, second, I had gone 4 weeks without seeing one, in town or out on the land. But the second day that I was in Iqaluit (it used to be called Frobisher Bay - that may help you locate it on a map), I was having breakfast in my B & B when I looked up and noticed the company I'd been keeping --- two tuktu/caribou grazing about 8 feet away.
