Above
is what Laila, the youngest (10) on our camping trip, did
to pass the time while the adults tried to get all of the
qamuitiks up a steep hill. (In some cases, two snowmobiles
were used to pull the heavier of the qamutiqs up.) Laila made
her mark using little pebbles to stand the larger rocks up.
As I explained in Email 13, you
can tell the children who have spent some time out on the
land from the ones who haven't, as you rarely hear the words,
"This is BORING!" out of the former.
