This is Romani, who is, among other things, a student of my brother's (at the time), a great qamitiq-mate, (she kept me entertained as well as saved the day while we were travelling home from Ugakjualik. The sealskin rope holding the entire load down became detached and Romani, using her superhuman strength, re-attached it while we flew over multiyear ice with our driver completely oblivious to the mayhem going on behind him. Soon after we were dumped off of the sled while the qamutik hit a piece of five-foot tall ice.) and an excellent cribbage player!
